These are good points, I'd also like to mention that when I was trying to stop drinking so much soda, I started getting these packets of flavored water. They come with caffene variations, and I've found that helps curb the soda cravings.

Also while yes, the general idea is calories in -> calories out, you should also balance your macronutrients.

If you only eat carbs, you'll probably get a sugar crash and be starving, if you only eat fats, you'll probably be satiated more, but you'll be tired and have skin issues. And protien is important as a building block, but your body only uses it as fuel of you're already starving to death, so going only-protien is no good!

But if you make sure all three are balanced, the fat helps you eat fewer calories, the carbs help you stay awake, and the protien keeps your body healthy!

Obviously there's also a balance for micronutrients, but that's more something to talk to a doctor about. I used to use Lifesum when I was actively keeping track of these things, but I just looked it up, and its promoting itself as AI now?! Lmao. Well, there goes my app reccomendation. You could do the same thing by just journaling what you eat, but having an app is nice so you don't have to do as much math.
