2000 is about as much as an ordinary person living an ordinary not-entirely-sedentary life burns in one day, so it isn't too surprising that you aren't really moving with that intake. Great for once you've hit a target weight and want to keep it.

Targeting under 1800 will give you more results, but a pound of fat is something like 3000 calories, so don't expect super-fast results anyway. Eating even less will give you faster results, but don't push it: you will probably hate living on like 1400 calories a day every day until you hit your target weight, and your body still wants a certain amount of food to maintain itself.

I found a lot of success with drinking unsweetened green tea to reduce my cravings, but I actually like green tea, so if you don't, then you'll need to find another no calorie (or very low calorie) way to put off wanting to eat something else.
Cutting out soda is also pretty much mandatory (you can have a soda like once in a while, but getting rid of it gets rid of upwards of 200 calories easily).

Exercise is useful, but if you aren't building muscle (and this is /j/, so I suspect you aren't trying to become big and jacked), it doesn't do much for weight loss since much of your calorie burn is from your body maintaining muscle mass. A 20 minute light jog is only like 200 or so calories burned. Being active does increase your general metabolic rate over the day, so you might end up having a higher overall calorie burn anyway, but it still might not be enough, especially if you suspect you have a slow metabolism.

also, one last useful bit: you should notice how many calories you eat when you feel full, so you can make sure to not keep eating after that point
this also lets you guesstimate how many calories you had in something that you can't easily get calorie information on (like a home cooked meal)

ultimately, keep at it (´人`) ヽ(´∇`)ノ
I've lost a fuckton of weight over the last several months.
It's not super hard, but lately I lack the discipline and I still want to lose like 10 more pounds. ( ´ω`)
