as someone who had a 56k modem (that as far as I can tell, either due to overhead or just plain incompatibility, was giving me more like 33.6kbit/s speed, I'd top out at like 3-point-something kByte/s during downloads), the idea of being excited for 19.2kbit/s internet is horrifying
