I'm a hypersexual homebody in my 30s who has never had any friends or any desire to go outside. I was home schooled by a mentally ill abusive single mother and there were no other kids my age in the neighborhood and no siblings so there was nothing to do outside but play with sticks and rocks. Video games and the trash on TV was the only escape from that hell until I got internet access at around 10 and I've been a NEET living on the internet ever since. With divorce rates and birthrates the way they are I'd guess a lot of young people grew up in similar environments, but getting internet access even younger and with a far bigger, faster and more addictive internet.
