Yeah since Garloid farms aren't heavily subsidized, minor errors in the production process can really kill the price. There has been a disease going around for Garloids where it doesn't show any affect on the outside until they die, making it almost impossible to detect at the moment.

The ease of Garloid production compared to other meats is offset by stuff like this. They are notoriously difficult to keep entirely healthy until they're ready. They also like to try to crawl up the farmers' asses and most don't like that.
