I used to do that, but if you need to access the files on a regular basis, this is a pain in the ass as you have to unzip them each time, then delet the unzipped files when you're done. This is why VeraCrypt, and probably other encryption softwares, are good. With VeraCrypt all you need to do is mount the drive, and you can access it just like any other folder.
