I wonder how many people like it just because of youtube greentext stories or other related videos, without actually ever using the boards. There is a decently big audience for this type of content. I believe it's also one of the reasons why "young people like imageboards".

That's also true, it and 4chan are currently the 2 biggest western imageboards. They have many differences between each other and yet they both suck for many reasons.
And replying to OP's question, maybe... I am convinced I already have a reputation of liking "weird internet things" among people I know, and Heyuri would only ramp it up a lot.
