because we have less societal shit to hide from and ignore, unlike the nips who want to kill themselves over shit work, shot women, and shit social circumstances. It's also a helluva lot more interesting than either seeing taki-kun look up popiko-chan's skirt and having her go "kyaa!" and bop him on the head, or seeing two jap middle schooler cartoons make out for the 700th time. So much Japanese shit is formulaic as hell and they all follow old American trends anyways; the "misunderstandings are funny!" schtick got old with Three's Company.
