Trump dug himself a big hole by bringing this up as something he'd work on during his term. People say he's backtracking and dodging because he's guilty too, but it think it's probably just that there's not as much there as people think and he just used it as a meaningless campaign promise. The whole thing kind of smacks of moral panic and people using it to their advantage. For example there are a lot of accusers who looked very much to be going in for a cash grab. This is from an article I read:

He subsequently opted to settle his lawsuit with Giuffre, presumably viewing this as preferable to standing trial in the United States amid a maelstrom of publicity.

It's probably like the Diddy thing where if it gets broken down seriously in court it will turn out to not be that much. But then if this happens people will just insist malpractice.
