A couple months, and only to make sure it still worked. My speaker on it has been busted since I was young. I refuse to deal with that screen in the present era without a light for it, but I know I'm not going to go through the effort of modding the display.

the only games I have left are Pokemon Gold (I think the save battery is dead) and Super Mario Land ( ´ω`)
