i remember going to /lit/ on da 4chanz and thinking it would be alright because i thought: "surely the act of reading actual books will filter all of the idiots, trolls, bad faith actors and so on!".

i lurked here and there for a couple of months, and although i did find some marginally engaging and thought provoking content in my time there, i eventually realized that the same problems that plague what seems like all the boards on 4chan also plague /lit/, with the only difference being that /lit/ disguises itself with the veil of intellectuality.

Which i think is a most heinous crime, even worse than the other boards, which seem to be unrepentant about their lack of quality.
