Emo Kid = (Emo) + (Kid)


To maintain equivalence you have to apply the changes on both sides, so...

Emo Kid - Emo = (Emo) + (Kid) - (Emo)


If you substract anything its negative counterpart it becomes null

Emo Kid - Emo = Kid
