Taking pills and reading about religion and the occult. I love exploring and hanging around shrines, temples, and other sacred places. I love the architecture, the aesthetic, the smell. I have a little black notebook of important festivals and days associated with local shrines, mosques, temples etc. the churches here kinda suck though so I avoid them. Protestants have shit taste although there are these hidden little Evangelical churches built into old apartment blocks and high rises on the main street. I saw one with a big neon cross over the alter. It feels almost cyberpunk becuase you enter through a shitty stairway with a fuck ton of electrical equipment strapped to the walls. I collect all the religious and magical books. Anything spiritual. Amulets, talismans, incense sticks. I got this little book of Xie Anshuo the other day. He's some hotshot Buddhist poet from Gansu province. Oh and an mp3 of the Heart Sutra ft. Hatsune Miku which sounds like shit but whatever.

I like traditional culture and art. I'm getting into traditional Chinese painting and watercolor. I do calligraphy from time to time in Naskh mainly although I wanna learn Kufic at some point. And no I'm not posting anything here. People hate that stuff nowadays but I like it. Young people have no taste fuck em. The older I get the more I appreciate traditional Japanese/Chinese culture and hate the new stuff. All of the things Miyazaki says about modern Japan and Otaku culture resonates more and more. Modern Japan has no soul and otakus are just victims of a souless dead world. You know why? You read maybe some Li Bai maybe something from the Kokin Wakashu or even Rumi. Its all so colorful, soft, tasteful and gentle. It soothes your soul and makes you appreciate life. Then you look at culture today its all grey and ugly and nihilistic or low grade prison food amd people actually like that shit.

Also I do kendo because why not? I get to hit people with a big stick while doing a war cry happy
