Just take it one step at a time
You and I probably share the same mindset, except mine is over media in general. I have actual excel files listing my videogame, movie and book backlogs. On top of that i have a couple of TV shows/anime downloaded plus Grant Morisson's New X-Men series. Right now i watch an episode of I Love Lucy every saturday, an episode of X-Files on sundays, and then watch an episode of Daria, Black Lagoon or an X-Men chapter from time to time.
The most important advice i can give you is to take your time. If you watch an episode a day of some anime it'll start blending together, if you finish a book and then rush to start another you won't really interiorize your experience with the previous, etc. Let your mind digest, so to speak. It's about the journey, not the destination
