this is a fun fact that i never see anyone talk about and is pretty important to also understand their manga/anime tropes
opposites attract, and the japanese love their stereotypes, hence the love for picrel which is really what they mean when jap girls think about western guys (androgynous blonde pale). this swedish boy actor (Björn Andrésen) started it all: he got famous for doing a part in a venice movie, then got insanely big in 80s japan (when he moved in the country) and put in their minds this stereotype which also influenced pretty much every 80s-90s light hair andro trope you see in anime and manga like griffith (and everything that spawned after that by inspiration)
