I'm 32. phd, 3 years of exp including microsoft. Still don't own a single thing and basically broke despite living on rice and beans. I keep going through cycles of saving, some calamity like covid happens, lose all my savings to survive, back to 0.
I think many in my cohort are experiencing the same (just with moar work and less schooling sweat2)

And it must be even harder for thosw younger.

So if you managed to be able to justify getting into cars, you're far ahead of most. Try again when the economy turns around and people start having jobs though.
