>2007-2015 was also the time of the last breaths of flash
Flash games were already a relic of the past during most of that period - their heyday was more liek 2000-2008, and most of them were low-quality and/or only fun for a couple of minutes

>this era only sucks if you are the kind of "88-04 good, 04-16 bad, 16-now good" weirdo
2007-2015 gaming was only "good" if you were a Wii/CoD/Minecraft kiddie with no perspective - which I was not!

>the former decade is always considered "shameful" after some 6 years
I and many others were shitting on the state of gaming and hoping for a second video game market crash during that entire period xd

>Like what?
Like all kinds of genres (old and new) that had very little presence and generally felt stagnant/decaying, but are now flourishing with a relatively steady stream of high-quality, passionately-developed releases - even without massive marketing machines behind them

There's something for pretty much everyone now, in contrast to 10-15 years ago when many former gaming demographics were completely ignored by AAA, and "indie gaming" just wasn't good enough to replace the kinds of games that AA devs were previously putting out

There was a time when ur only choices for games were pretty much "heavily-recycled monochromatic 'cinematic experience' with half the game sold as 9001$ in DLC" or "artsy 2deep4u indie crap that u will complete in an hour", with little inbetween - and most of what was inbetween was mediocre or lame cashgrabs
