i can see where youre coming from, ''real otaku'' rooms seem more lived in and utilitarian, (or full of trash and piss bottles!). I'm only speculating, but maybe it seems fake to you because of their over-emphasis on flashy presentation... lights, expensive shelfs... etc? But does that make someone less otaku? Putting your figs on top of your crt monitor instead of on a 1000 dollar show case? is it a measure of otakuness or maybe its just a difference in income. ヽ(´ー｀)ノ
