Had compassion on the poor, disabled and orphans. The Qur'an is full of admonishments directed towards wealthy misers.
Taught that God's mercy or wrath are independent of one's race or social status.
Many of the Qur'an's verses are genuinely beautiful and poetic.
The verses about God leaving us signs of his existence in nature inspired many scientific discoveries. This was bolstered by the importance of reading scripture, which led to increased literacy.

Spread his religion through conquest.
Heavily intertwined religion and politics, even more so than other religions of his time, with shariah governing nearly every aspect of human life.
Islamic morality is legalistic. Muslims are taught to obey religious authority over their own consciences. This is why you'll still find Muslim evangelists defending child marriage, the subjugation of women, corporal punishment and brutal methods capital punishment, etc.

While Islam had some positive outcomes for humanity, they were largely temporal and are now outweighed by the problems it is currently causing.
