i will just say i loved the gameplay because it felt like a puzzle solvable in number of ways. you could sneak fight or hack in any way you liked. the game provided the tools and map design for you to really come up with your own way of playing.
but besides that i think a captivating world where evil almost won via means people speculated about in real life played a big role. but its not only that. the dialogues. besides the snarky jesus christ denton we have a memorable duo of mechs with rerouted fear of pain, "in da fresh" gov lady, chinese kaczynski, black barkeeper, french sex bomb nicolette, unatco head, AIs, tons of other characters. graphics are not good and require few hours of adjustment but i take deus ex over any other game released in the past 25 years. or ever really. dont get me started on music or these maps set in france. a masterpiece.
