i want to encrypt my drives, not because i have illegal content but because lately i've become paranoid that someone installed a backdoor in my computer and has been able to monitor me for YEARS but i simply never noticed
i began setting permissions to every file and folder in my computer from 755 to 700 since there are no users beside myself, i read up on veracrypt on the archwiki but it looks like i can easily lose years worth of stuff and i have nowhere to copy it to as a backup
my fucking isp doesnt allow me to change DNS so i can't install a pihole to kill ads and certain websites for my entire family (i am 100% sure they have malware in their devices)
