this used to be true but since the yen dipped and every moron from the US can afford to travel there the opinion has dropped sharply. outside of popular tourist spots people don't really care, but if you're anywhere near another tourist, you get lumped in with them and met with immediate suspicion from all but the nicest people. privately they still think english sounds supaa kuuru though
