I've never really had a relationship that was long-term at all (and don't really want one) but I'm a former hikki so I have a good number of opinions on living a life of that nature; I have no malintent in saying any of this, and I don't know either of you and so I'm not sure if all of this applies, YMMV, but:

1. The fact she has a boyfriend is a good sign. At least there's ONE individual in her circle she talks to and is able to be intimate with. Sometimes that's worth 15 friends who you can never actually show yourself to. Many hikkis pull in because they're afraid of intimacy, including myself; the fact she is (seemingly) in a long-term relationship and you've known one another since adolescence is good. Staying with her is good for both of you, from what I know.

2. What I do have a problem with is doing all of the work for her. Doing nothing is bad for both of you, both because you're the one pulling the weight and she's just there doing nothing and doing nothing kills the soul. The sad truth is no one CAN bear the problems and responsibilities of another forever. Not a matter of moral responsibility but a matter of being. At some point she's going to have to do something, she'll be put in a situation she is far from prepared for (given your statement on her, I do not know her.)

3. That can come sooner than you think. Not necessarily your death, but smaller things; you might get so sick that you can't do a lot of it, you might not be able to be there in some way, shape or form, and she'll be left alone to do something for herself. That might get quite ugly.

Yeah, no; the "rat race" is a meme, there's a point in time where people have been able to live comfortable lives without fear of nature or repercussions called "never in the history of the universe". Similarly, while normalfag social lives can be quite vain, that is not the only mold social interaction comes in. As someone entering research, most of the social interaction I would get is collaboration with others on some research project, seminars on technical topics, et cetera. That's still something. And work could be similar; you'd be surprised how much you speak just by being surrounded by other people doing the same thing. You might not call them "friends" as much as "co-workers" or "acquaintances", but that's still something.

Or, you might find folks that share interests with you and would talk about them. Given there's at least ONE person out there OP's gf is deeply acquainted with (OP), the chance there's another isn't astronomically low. Social interaction and work isn't about "being normal" but about pounding mochi, so to speak. A set of tasks to orient yourself and your life around, constraints around which you can build your own life. Having something to do in the morning is absolutely great, no doubt about it.

I'm a NEET right now having gotten back into school and graduated with a Bachelor's, and I'm in about the same position I was as a hikki right now, though I've learned a good bit on keeping sane from that. I'm pursuing a research-oriented Master's (no dox, keeping it vague) next year if all goes swell, and having something to orient my life around is legitimately what allows me to enjoy other things. When I have nothing, I don't even feel like talking to my friends, let alone playing vidya or watching animu. In the interim I've been self-studying mathematical logic as well as linear algebra (hinting at my Master's... try and figure it out!) to really up my game when I do get there.

Again, OP, your mileage may well vary. But these are just the words of a NEET after a period of non-NEETdom and a period of NEETdom before it. ( ̄ー ̄)
