The old source code you mean right, don't discredit our developers like that ( ´ω`) However pre-overhaul kokonotsuba was vulnerable it turns out.
IDK if this source is legit but the 2020 code wasn't secure either and got hacked at least once, once the code was leaked due to the admin screwing something up.

Times have changed irreversibly, PHP was great for this because it was super accessible and a site's security heavily relied on the user's programming skills and knowledge on what to avoid doing. Back then lots more people were noobs and wrote insecure shit, thus their sites eventually got defaced by other more skilled noobs.
Nowadays it appears that web programming holds your hand a lot more, part of the reason so many people have a hate boner for PHP is because "it's insecure" when in reality it's fine, some people just didn't know how to use it properly and it's got itself this reputation.
