Having a normie navigate to D:/ to see their usb drive instead of /mnt/mounteddrive or /run/media/user/UID is a little more intuitive.. dont you think..? I get his point, some of the fundamentals of UNIX are hard for people who aren't already used to UNIX to easily understand.
Applications splitting their files all amongst the filesystem is also a little hard when you have to switch configs, i think it's fair to expect configs to be next to the application in it's own folder, rather than be buried somewhere in the /etc/ directory.
