unix is a 1970's mainframe.
Desktop os's do not need to follow a LOT of the concepts of unix.
One example is the way windows handles disks using distinct paths which is FAR better than having everything mounted to the "root" file system with mount folders.
Even MacOS obfuscates the unixness of the underlying system to make it more like windows, which helps with actual real desktop usage.
