(OP) I wouldn't not update keepass because I'd presume over time they strengthen the encryption of their KDBX database format.

As for programs that don't connect to the internet and aren't encrypted, I use old versions all the time.

Anyway, if someone has physical access to your computer (or remote access through malware) then using kmymoney, homebank, gnucash or whatever wouldn't be any more secure.
