I just finished reading this book after being aware of its existence for quite some time. I once saw it being enthusiastically praised on /lounge/ (or maybe 4-ch.net). I enjoyed getting a glimpse of how life used to be in late 1960s japan, but I thought it read too much like an eroge at parts. The MC is exactly like an eroge protagonist: stoic, quiet, smart, exceptionally good at pleasing women, and
had even amassed himself a harem by the end of the novel
. It felt a bit masturbatory, too. But like I said, it was enjoyable, I didn't hate it or anything, just felt a bit juvenile. What did you guys think?
