Creation of something new. LLMs cannot produce anything that is not a permutation of what is in their databases.
It is easier to tell what is a sure sign of absence of intelligence: finding the closest possible statistical match in your database and reciting it as the truth with absolute confidence, repeatedly, even after being told to not do that. The phenomenon erroneously dubbed "hallucination" which in reality it is merely a natural consequence of the algorithm's design. The thing is working as intended. It is being sold as something it is not.
