I dont want to be rude and bully, theres obviously a difference between old and new web, and new web is designed to lock people out of niche things, and information / community /content is heavily influenced by global interests etc.

If you're missing old web design or niche communities / slow forums, then youre in luck, because you can make all those things, nothing is stopping anyone from doing it, and the knowledge to do so is ever more present.
You can design forums, make new websites, host websites, even make search engines.

However teens these days tend to have an ideologically influenced, rose-tinted view of the old internet, this idealized view that it was comfy little communities of nice people who never had anything mean to say and that rude people online is a modern phenomena.
Or that it was some unexplored backrooms with spooky static pages that just appeared like caves in minecraft.

People did put more effort into typing, but thats mostly because 98% of the internet in those days was dominated by America, Europe, and Japan, and in america it was largely white people operating computers until the early mid 00 simply due to the income hurdle to owning a computer.

The advent of smart phones caused discourse to plummet because there was no barrier to using the internet, You were no longer arguing with an intelligent computer-savvy nerd from connecticut,

You are now arguing with someone who may not even have used a toilet in their lives. So posting quality was not "better" in the old days because AI made people rude, its due to the internet being populated by THE WORLD now, and that includes schizophrenic homeless and people who just discovered fire yesterday. The oddest thing about faux old web lovers is that they tend to subtly cry for more regulation of the internet in a backhanded way, they opine for a more polite, less mean spirited internet, equating unique web design to "freedom" meanwhile advocate deplatforming, hate speech legislation, pornographic censorship, etc.
If these people saw the actual old web, and the way people talked in those days, they wouldnt be fans of it.
