Hegel is wrong, selfhood is not any kind of negation; it is void. In reality, nothing, in language, a null pointer which is expressed as an affirmation, a making-one-present, either by attending to by tuning (posession) or taking of by will mediated force (posessing).
Der Einzige is defined by having no direct relations to objects in the world and thus existing outside it in void. selfhood is not an affirming negation of awareness but its ground. it is not as if we exist embodied in the world and then 'become conscious' of ourselves through negation.
without consciousness there would be no world as such. we may become "disillusioned" from posession by conscious recognition of our concern in the world, not through negation. in posession ("illusionment") this happens in reverse; the posessor emerges in our body as concern from an [[underworld]] an appears consciously as negation eg. negation of the "self" before god. that is also no different from the process with which we come to own our body and thus the world.
