Almost regret linking to that vid since it's a divisive ultracrepidarianist rant by a dude who, albeit was around since the beginning, has made it his mission in life to make people on the internet angry, and it could very easily derail it or outright discourage people from posting
I'm pretty well informed when it comes to the general history of the proto-2ch, mid-90s underground bbs scene. This thread in particular is about imageboards influenced by 4chan, which is essentially all of them, with the exception of the Japanese ones, and the Asian ones inspired by those (ACG boards and the like)
