Mining uses electricity. If I put it in my own apartment, I'd have to plug it into my own wall. This closet is owned by the building admn. so the electricity the laptop uses isn't my problem. I only reap the rewards. That's what makes or breaks mining profits, if electricity costs more than your profit, you lose.
