Some marketplaces provide merely a chat feature and let the users negotiate a payment method. Just search for classifieds and you are going to find a bunch of those sites. While it probably will raise an eyebrow, cash should be in the realm of the thinkable, when negotiating something like that. I would always look if it's feasible to drive to the sellers place and pay with cash, as this is most normal way to do and certainly won't be as bothersome. If they are too far away, you can send cash by mail, which probably will be off-putting and weird, but it should work too.

Cash is vastly superior in this use case, not only because doesn't rely on a million micro-technicalities to be secure (this is also true for XMR), but because it's normal and the de-facto standard, and doesn't make normans shy away (which is the kind of people you are dealing with on those marketplaces).
