There's clear evidence on the point about childbirth (Stulp et al. 2011). Adult health is a little less researched, but for exmaple there's evidence that maternal height reduces the risk of mortality before age 3 (Monden et al. 2009), while paternal height has been correlated with some blood problems (Savage et al. 2014)
