Japanese pop music is really kneegroughey too, though. Classical European inspired art pop has gone out the window these last few years in favor of God-awful rhymeless rap music, and unrelated song genres being polluted with the dreaded trap_beat.wav you hear in almost every American commercial. Doesn't help that hip-hop is the most popular genre with the Japanese youth these days.
