The base game models are a bit rough around the edges, but some of mods are really well made! The main problem you'll run into is that not all the clothes are fitted for the models though, so even though you may find a cute piece of clothing it might not fit the model you chose. Some of the mods let you mix and match body parts as a workaround, but I usually just stick to using models and clothes made by the same creators to not run into this much
