>Slight tangent, but I dont know why some people take it upon themselves (even on this site, we've had a couple threads like these before) to try and convince people who have a longing for the past that things weren't that good, that they're looking at things like the old internet through rose tinted glasses, etc.
I don't know if this is true, but it's like they keep insisting that there "needs" to be a "trade-off" between the amazing communities of the past with horrible internet speeds and file capacities, and the horrible people in the present with lightning fast connections and huge storage sizes. Why must there be?! Why can't you have the cool forums of old with the amazing servers of today?

>Personally, I think things like that are part of a grand psyop to get you to accept the shittyness of today's world.
An even worse idea is that there is no psyop because there is no one planning or controlling this. That everyone mocking you for ""nostalgia"" isn't being paid off by a grand conspiracy, and that there are people on the internet that genuinely believe this and are willing to spend time and energy to make sure you buy into it as well.
