Most women are consensus oriented.
consensus in style, consensus in whats attractive, what we should do in life, etc. So much is dictated by what we perceive as something that is "good" socially

Globally, thanks to the internet, the concept of a consensus is being contested, a person could live their entire lives and essentially avoid the consensus, one now has multiple competing consensus opinions, which is a good thing and a bad thing, because it means that people can be driven to mind control like in the past, but also they can avoid mind control by not being trapped in a manufactured societal consensus

But when there is an overwhelming amount of options for how people should act, behave, view the world, social circles, the types of people who are instinctively consensus driven, have a difficult time navigating life, they feel lost. Japanese especially are effected by this.

Men in america, and japan in the bubble economy faced a similar situation where the consensus that they were valued for the work they do was in question due to societal modernization, they did their wage slavery but it was no longer guaranteed that they would have a wife that cared about them, or a family that loved them for it, so men began leaving the workforce or killing themselves.

Thanks to modernization, new competing consensuses which devalue marriage, women dont think marriage is necessary, at the same time, the alternative is wage slavery, wage slavery isnt very appealing either, typically for a socially disagreeable person this would mean branching out on your own, carving your own path, making your own business or persuing your own passions regardless of what other people want from you, but many women feel the desire to "fit in" with peer groups and not break from consensus, which leads many into this "ive been doing something i dont want to do for the past 10+ years i hate it but i dont know why" situation that leads to female existential crisis.
