How's them in blue rarely seen? Feels off-colour. Like it blahs together. On the one hand, there's already too much blue around. On the other hand, maybe it's only strange. On the gripping hand, the red might more towards energy the characters', story's.

Doing some research, it seems the Japanese switch to their summer uniform on June 1st and change back to the winter uniform on October 1st, and in between those points there's around 6 weeks of summer vacation starting from July 20th - that leaves only 11 weeks of the year spent wearing the summer uniform, which is roughly 21% of the year

Now if we break down the 26 episodes of Azumanga Daioh, the red winter uniform is featured at some point during 19 of those episodes, and the blue summer uniform is featured in 7 - this gives a percentage breakdown of 73% and 27% respectively (see the provided pie chart for a visual representation)

This shows that the summer uniform actually appears slightly more often in the Azumanga Daioh anime than a Japanese student would typically wear a summer uniform in real life
