Hiii, I love chibi Maruko too! I'm a big fan.
I dont know a whole lot about newer Maruko, since im mostly just a fan of the original run, so i cant help much there.

I would NOT supporting crunchy roll because they censor anime (those bastards).

https://www.maruchansubs.com/ has a lot of episodes of the original series if anyone else is interested in picking up the show for the first time.
