OP here, I absolutely get the feeling that it is in fact targeting actual, literal ojisans.

I probably was going to give it a miss if an IRL friend of mine hadn't decided it was worth watching - he's usually not that bad when it comes to recs (he got me to watch Akiba Maid War which was pretty enjoyable)
