I love Devilman. It's one of his earliest serious manga (he did Maou Dante before), so it's a bit odd here and there, but it's good.
You absolutely need to read Devilman Lady though. Similar premise, but instead of pushing the envelope with what was allowed in the 70s (so it's pretty tame no), Lady is hardcore by late 90s standards. The art is better by a lot too. I think the pacing is a bit rough in spots but it is gripping enough to get you through.
