it's so depressing. i think the reason is mostly because not knowing how to properly adapt the source material at this point.
it was literally framed as if it was a proper revival and then nothing else happened because it's hardly practical at this point. the gap between fucking killed the series in the longrun. you'll just see that word over and over. "impractical". probably more to it than that but i can never rewatch the 2018 version because it's just painful. fumoffu is beloved to me.
