What matters is the number, that is the time before the card repeats. Anki works through spaced repetition (increasingly large interval before you see the thing again). If you fail to recall, click the again one. If you recalled, pick one of the other buttons depending on how hard you had to push your memory. Since you are using a premade deck, just click "good" when you see something for the first time. (because anki is designed assuming you aren't learning from it but rather making notes on it)

Update: it's the RAM, not the SSD. A file I downloaded to the HDD had a checksum error so I ran a memory diagnostic and it turns out the RAM's fucked. It looks like the RAM is also from ADATA so it's still probably their fault. Unless running the CPU at 800MHz for a while instead of its usual 3.5GHz without changing the voltage could've caused the problem?

unless you were overvolting due to a prior overclock (which would be a more likely source of issues anyway), probably not

After swapping memory sticks around to different slots and doing multiple memory diagnostics I've found which stick was the problem and that the slots are fine. Now I just need to redownload hundreds of gigabytes of stuff because I don't know what's corrupted and what's not. Now I've learned why people recommend keeping a cold storage backup.

shit like this is immeasurably worrying and I am genuinely baffled constantly as to why there isn't a filesystem that does checksumming or redundant writes (although it may or may not have helped in this particular case! if the data was bad in RAM, any checksum or redundant copy would be of the bad in-memory data... )
