i also struggle with a lot of the stuff you described. i feel like it has a lot to do with empathy, i end up going "well, i could totally understand how they could have developed this ideology and believe in it based on what they've been through, i guess they got a point there!" to almost every ideological piece i've read （⌒∇⌒ゞ） those thoughts in and of themselves are actually really good, i think, because it shows you can comprehend different views without getting defensive and angry like most people do (aka, what i think is right and everyone else who thinks differently is automatically wrong so i don't care). the problem is having a healthy enough amount of that understanding where you can think maturely about other people's viewpoints yet still not get swayed into believing every single thing people tell you just because it makes sense as to why someone would come to those conclusions. i haven't really figured out that balance, though. (´人｀)

i never read any books about analysis and critical thinking, but what worked for me was exposing myself to as many viewpoints as possible. it can help you form your own opinions more clearly and develop your values even stronger. it's kind of a confusing thing to explain, but i guess what helps is to just keep reading and gaining knowledge! ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

Beyond getting the basics of logic down, you might want to read some literary theory or familiarize yourself with philosophical concepts. Peter Adamson's History of Philosophy podcast and Gregory Sadler's core concepts videos on YouTube are pretty good. In general, reading a lot is good for you. It can be novels or manga, just as long as its not off the shelf slop. Stay away from hyper partisan politics. If your into politics, check out Peter Adamson's podcast episodes on Plato's Republic and Aristotle's politics.

Study some basic logic which you can learn online and practice writing out clean arguments or finding flaws in faulty arguments. Read up on literary theory or some important ideas in philosophy or whatever interests you. There are lots of good books for beginners and good online.

Sometimes you don't know if they've cooked the books. Data can be manipulated to mean all kinds of things and just because the facts are right doesn't mean the interpretation of those facts is also right. Sometimes people just misinterpret things or you'll notice something they haven't considered or someone is cherrypicking data to fit a hyper specific narrative e.g. The Bell Curve book.

This is good advice. Keep an open mind, read and listen and talk to people. Usually, people don't believe things for no reason. e.g. /pol/chuds think what they think because their part of a tribe/hivemind, communists thought capitalism was bad because industrialization was pretty brutal and still is etc. but just because something makes sense doesn't make it right. Sometimes someone can be right about one thing (Marx on employee alienation) and wrong about another thing (religion is opium). Online your expected to agree/disagree with an ideology but reality isn't so black and white.
