Eh, it's already the 10th townhall!? Are we at the point where it's fine if I lazily paste the text I wrote up the last time yet? I think yes!
If it's your first time, read about townhalls here: https://wiki.heyuri.net/index.php?title=Townhall - the logs are worth at least taking a glimpse at, though a lot of issues brought up can be considered obsolete today
Date: 11 May Saturday, 18:00 UTC
Location: https://gikopoi.world2ch.net/
There will be some complaints about how gikopoipoi doesn't work on old browsers for some reason, but it's more fun than IRC so we will use it. If you aren't able to join in any way, you can still read the logs and create a post-townhall thread to share your ideas
We are different from the unwashed masses.
The circunstances of our birth are special; we are either descendants of demons or royalty, people from other worlds or dimensions, etcetera.
We know things about this world most people don't know about.
We either fight against a nebulous organization that controls the world, or we are part of it.
Our names are edgy and sound like something from a JRPG.
Our powers have alternate kanji readings.
We are the chuunibyou, and we demand respect from the riajuu.

How come in movies, the letters talk? Whenever you watch a movie and someone opens a letter some sad music starts playing and you hear the voice of the person who wrote the letter...How come the person receiving the letter doesn't freak out about this? Also, if the letters can talk, how come the people who recieve those letters keep reading along with them, instead of sitting back and just listening?
>> |
wait, your letters don't talk? |
>> |
I hear voices all the time, not just when I'm reading letters... |
>> |
And another weird thing is that for some reason the main character is talking but his mouth isn't moving. How is he even talking? How do the other characters not hear him, especially when he's speaking about them or revealing incriminating information? If he can talk without moving his mouth, why doesn't anyone else? Just doesn't make any sense! |
>> |
what you can't do that either? you might want to get checked by a doctor |

>(USER WAS REPORTED FOR BEING PEDANTIC) |
Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride? Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait. For Dan was half drunk by this time. But he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff. Now Dan was ready to ride to the point But only after he'd smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride, Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, And Dan started trying to make a pass. A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.) "Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." With all of her might, she pushed Dan away: "Please take me home, I don't want to stay." Dan cranked up the engine and floored the gas. In a matter of seconds they were going too fast. As Dan drove on in a fit of wild anger, Jenny knew that her life was in danger. She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, But he just got faster as they neared the town. "Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied. I really went out for a moonlight ride." Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash. "Oh God, Please help us! We're going to crash!" She doesn't remember the force of impact. Just that everything all of a sudden went black. She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble, And heard, "call an ambulance! These kids are in trouble! Voices she heard...a few words at best. But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. Then wondered to herself if Dan was all right, And if the people in the other car was alive. She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad. "You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad." These voices echoed inside her head, As they gently told her that Dan was dead. They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do. But it looks as if we'll lose you too." "But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried. "We're sorry, Jenny, they also died." Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done I only wanted to have just one night of fun." "Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim, And wish I could return their families to them." "Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied, And that it's my fault so many have died. Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?" The nurse just stood there-she never agreed. But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes. And a few moments later Jenny died. A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best To bid that girl her one last request?" She looked at the man with eyes so sad. "Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad." This story is sad and unpleasant but true, So young people take heed, it could have been you.

Please listen to this angel's request......
If you do the small favor she asks to come true, She will be sent down to guard and protect you.
Please....do it for Jenny.

Do you ever think about how many statistical anomaly types you casually run into online? For example, I'm pretty sure a number of people here are autistic or something, but personally, I've never met an autistic person in even once in my real life. And from what I've read, autistic people finding each other in real life is very rare.Or members of different races; you run into them often enough online,(as they never cease to remind you.),but in real life I've never met a Jew or a Latino, and hardly spoken to any Asians.
Basically what I'm getting at is that I feel like this has certain unacknowledged implications on things like giving and recieving advice. If you ask for advice in a large forum, on something like romance you will attract people who are interested in the topic of romance, but beyond that they will have no commonality.
Some will be hopeless romantics, others will be cold pragmatists, some will be playboys and some will be prudes, some will be lucky in love and others will be coming off a bad breakup. Basically, it's too many myriad experiences to be useful to. Too many choices at play.
Even worse, these people don't know you. If you're a sensible person you probably didn't give away much info about yourself, but even if you give loads, some stranger can't perfectly reconstruct the situation you're in--thus their advice will be hopelessly general and be more about 'what worked for me.' than relevant to your situation. And again that notion of myriad experiences (with a number of statistical anomalies in the mix) comes in.
Let's say you ask for advice on the best way to approach a girl. You have this idea about how if you see one you like at the park you'll approach her and say hi. However, the forum you proposed this idea on has an unusually high number of chicks who hate being hit on by random guys, higher than in the general population of women in real life, so of course they tell you that whichever girl you might go for will also hate being hit on by a random guy. But how can they be sure? They don't know you or the girl. Maybe she is an accommodating person and an approach like that is perfectly fine for her.

I was just considering how getting advice and ideas about things from the Internet is an (obviously) crappy idea because any thread on any given topic is a tiny sample size, and a biased one at that, so after reading thru the whole thing you leave with very slanted ideas that don't really reflect the general population or really tell you what you should do. |

People in this site are not autistic, they are Schizoids. |

"Every time I'd see some international political news (usually war-related) in my college cafeteria, I would somberly utter,
"So that's what the world has chosen...".
Then I would pretend to make a call on my cell phone, spouting off lines like, "It's me. It seems as though xxx (some president's name) is going to take us on..."
Then I would say, "Yes, I understand. It is his decision to make in the end. La jodasoh steana (made-up words of farewell)." in the most gravest of tones, and finish my meal with a lonely air about myself.
I'd always intimidate the people around me like this."

711chan is back!
For a while, the domain had redirected to the official 7 Eleven website, but it's finally up again! It's too early to say much about it though. Everything is the same as it was since its shutdown; no new posts have been made yet. As it stands, it's a time capsule waiting to be opened.
So, what do you think? ヽ(´∇`)ノ

Welp, I tried posting for the first time but it seems to be b0rked for me. ヽ(`Д´)ノ |

Yawn. Let me know when 712chan is out. |
The idea of "chuunibyou" by itself is a sort of silent rebellion against the riajuu, the normies that have plagued our existence since forever.
Do not kill the part of you that is considered embarrassing, kill the part that gets embarrassed.
>> |
normie is an ok word and exists way longer than 4chan, so shut up |

But i still remember posts being removed and people getting corrected for using "normie"... |
